Between the place where the ancient Church of S. Rocco stood and the symbolic column of Rocca, delimited in the upper part by the ancient walls, there is the ancient moat, the fusà, today camp del tambass, theatre of epic matches of tambourine.
In 1955 the walls were extended, rearranging the escarpment on the side of the provincial road, and the Church of San Rocco was demolished. At the end of the 1950s, the house of Oreste Alciati was demolished at the bottom of the field and subsequently, along the lower part of the moat, the retaining wall was built that rests on the road of the santé, the path.
In July 2005 the municipal administration, led by the Mayor Gianni Avidano, started the works for the rearrangement of the portion of the square once occupied by the Church of San Rocco: the perimeter of the ancient foundations was traced on the pavement, some portions of the wall were raised, to create benches and place the original baptismal font.
Beyond the wall that runs along the provincial road, on the facade of an elegant blue house, two white marble tombstones recall two important characters of Rocca: Giuseppe Cornero and his grandson Enrico Cammarota Adorno, exponent of the Risorgimento and Senator of the Kingdom, his grandfather, pioneer aviation the grandson.
