Ca 'd Pipil, that is, the house covered by the tree canopy, in the image of the 1950s, belonged to Giuseppe Campini and was demolished in 1970 to enlarge the square. For the same reason, the house of Gaspare Delaude was also demolished.
In its place, in 1998, a meeting corner was created with benches, vases, street lamps and, on the facade above, a large sundial, made by Mario Tebenghi, which shows the real solar time of Rocca.
On the left in the image, the two oldest commercial activities in the town: the Romano bar - diner - tobacco shop, already active in the early 1900s, and managed since the postwar period by Mrs Pina Piano Bottero, who has delighted generations of patrons with her incomparable agnolotti.
A little further down is the bakery: only a few decades ago, the bread dough was prepared at home by housewives who, after "pià l'ura", that is, after booking the baking time, would transport the dough to the oven and there prepare the grissie, then leaving them in the custody of the baker who would bake them in due course. In more recent times the village bakery was run by Francesco Bozzola; in the 1960s it passed to Carlot Porzio and Mario Roggero.
Then, for over thirty years, Giuseppe Gaetani, with his family, daily baked breads of every quality and shape and delicious sweet and savoury pastries. It is currently run by Valentina and Ilirian Meta.
On the left, acting as a watershed between Sundial Square and Tambourine Square, an old brick pillar, topped by an ancient stone column, has remained intact: this is one of the oldest artifacts found in the area.
Originally placed at the entrance to the fortress, it was moved in recent times to its current position on the edge of the moat wall.
In the early 1900s, the column became part of the municipal coat of arms: the lady with the long hair, encircled by a crown, in fact holds a column in her hand.
